Questenberk Palace serves as a hotel old Prague since 2003, when it underwent major reconstruction and has a rich history dating back to 1610.
Questenberk Palace (also st.Elisabeth and st. Norbert hospital) was built in 1665 - 68 probably by Jan George Gottwieck in his own design. The establishment of the hospital contributed to Rudolph II., as follows from his rescript of 18 February 1610, in which he asks John Loheila, sufragan of Prague Strahov canon, telling that he donates to build a hospital instead of house purchased for storage heap.
Unfortunately, about hospital its own in which the old Prague hotel Questenberk is located today we do not know anything, nor exactly when it was built - the first time its construction specifically appear until very late in 1622, in times when the abbey was ruled by Questenberk Kaspar, who is also according to the inscription over the hotel entrance true board founder. Hence also the name of the hotel old Prague. It is likely that the creator of this building was Melchior Meer, who worked for Questenberk in the 20th and 30th of the 17th century. The instrument of foundation maintains since 1625 informing us that the hospital stood on the monastery grounds, but already behind convent gate.
As a medical device worked almost until the end of the 2nd World War. Back to life awoke the building as a hotel Old Prague to the current operator and CEO of D.A.M.O., Ltd. , Mr. Jaroslav Hlinka in 2003. Above the portal is a marble plaque from the original questenberk hospital with the inscription:
DOM / HOSPITALE QUESTEMBERGIAN M /AD HONOREM OMNLPOTENTIS DEI ET MEMORIAM BEATAE / ELISABETH….
